Slavoj Žižek Live! – New York (Matinee)

In Conversation

Join the rockstar philosopher and revolutionary Slavoj Zizek for a celebration of his life and thought. Expect dialectics, psychoanalysis, and jokes.

Erudite and comic, ironic and profound, philosopher Slavoj Zizek has travelled into territory where few of us dare to tread—and aged 76 he shows no signs of becoming less provocative. In this very special celebration, we’ll delve deep into his life story and journey. From his education in Yugoslavia, where his master’s thesis was denounced by the authorities for being ‘not Marxist enough,’ and his fight to democratise Slovenia and defend human rights, to his current role as one of the 21st century’s most renowned public intellectuals, this is a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the makings of the man widely known as ‘the most dangerous philosopher in the West.’.

We’ll explore his philosophical journey and hear his thoughts on the state of the world and prospects for the future. What does he think about AI, chatbots, and new technologies? Is there hope for humankind in an age of climate catastrophe? Is progress really a good thing?

Discover the answers from one of the most outrageous thinkers of our time.
