Own It – An Evening With Diane von Furstenberg

In Conversation With Hannah MacInnes

As a fashion designer and founder of her global brand, DvF, Diane von Furstenberg transformed her iconic wrap dress into a symbol of independence for millions of women.

One of Time Magazine’s most influential people and Forbes’ most powerful women, Diane von Furstenberg is a world-renowned fashion designer whose dresses are worn by Michelle Obama and displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art; but she is no less acclaimed for work as an advocate, philanthropist and champion of emerging women leaders.

Drawing on the experiences of her extraordinary life, and encompassing her insights into love and family, knowledge and glamour, she joins How To Academy to share a manifesto for personal growth unlike any other.

She will teach us that first and foremost that we have a commitment to the truth and to ourselves, that we must accept who we are and stand for it. She says: ‘the secret to life is one thing: own it. Own our imperfections. Own our vulnerability; it becomes our strength. Whatever our challenge is, own it. Owning it is the first step to everything.’
