America’s preeminent neurologist joins us with a comprehensive guide to preventing Alzheimer’s and other thinking disorders.

Dementia is on the rise; it is the seventh leading cause of death globally according to the WHO and 153 million are predicted to have the condition by 2050.

Dr Richard Restak is here to help ensure that you aren’t one of them. A Clinical Professor at George Washington, the author of more than 20 books on the human brain, including two New York Times bestsellers, and in demand as a lecturer everywhere from the Pentagon to NASA, Richard joins How To Academy with expert guidance on how to protect your long-term brain health.

He will show us that dementias exist on a spectrum, starting with perfectly normal performance and ending at the extremes of mental dysfunction. He will provide practical advice on how to reduce your risk of developing the condition, and shed light on both the positive and more challenging consequences of pioneering new dementia medications that will soon be available.

Most important of all, Dr Restak will help us understand what practical steps can be taken each day to lessen the odds of dementia, and how to take advantage of new medications, all while gaining a better understanding of thinking, and what it is like to have it falter.
