Working with pen and ink to sketch London in all its glory, the celebrated observer of city life joins us to demonstrate his art and teach us the invaluable skill of illustration.

One of Britain’s best known and most admired illustrators, Matthew Rice possesses uncanny ability to express the energy of a place through a few lines of ink and splashes of paint.

In this in-person masterclass, he joins us in London to explain his practice and demonstrate his techniques – imparting his wisdom and offering hands-on advice and guidance so that you too can begin to draw the world around you with accuracy and verve. Along the way he’ll share insights into his rich and accomplished career as an artist and illustrator.

Drawing is a fitness – and like all forms of exercise requires practice, repetition, and careful thought. Ideas and creativity are not necessary to master this powerful tool. Join us and discover how to covert three dimensions to two – turning the architecture in front you into vibrant and attractive pictures. It’s an unmissable chance to learn a new skill under the tutelage of a veritable master.

All tickets to this masterclass include a copy of Matthew’s new book, Venice: A Sketchbook.
