Confessions of a Metal God

Rob Halford in conversation with Matthew Stadlen

2020 marks 50 years of Judas Priest – and 50 million albums sold worldwide. Now the front man of the most iconic metal band of all time joins How To Academy to confess his sins.

Most priests take confessions. This one is giving his.
Rob Halford, front man of global iconic metal band Judas Priest, is a true ‘Metal God’. Raised in Britain’s hard-working heavy industrial heartland he and his music were forged in the Black Country.
His life is an unforgettable rock ‘n’ roll story – a journey from a Walsall council estate to musical fame via alcoholism, addiction, police cells, ill-starred sexual trysts and bleak personal tragedy, through to rehab, coming out, redemption… and finding love.
Now he joins How To Academy to tell the gospel truth. In this frank, full and shocking account of five decades in the music business, we’ll hear Rob’s encounters with Superman and Andy Warhol, Madonna, Jack Nicholson and the Queen. More than anything else, it’s a celebration of the fire and power of heavy metal.
This event takes place at 7:30pm BST.
