Angela Saini – How Men Came to Rule

Via Livestream

Join award-winning British science journalist and broadcaster Angela Saini to celebrate the paperback publication of her groundbreaking book The Patriarchs: How Men Came to Rule.

Patriarchs is a bold and radical book that searches for the true roots of what we call patriarchy. Travelling to the world’s earliest known human settlements, analysing the latest research findings in science and archaeology, and tracing cultural and political histories from the Americas to Asia, Angela uncovers a complex history of how the patriarchy first became embedded in societies across the globe.

Angela will be in conversation for this enlightening virtual event, in partnership with Fane Productions, asking what part we all play – women included – in keeping patriarchal structures alive, and why we need to look beyond the old grand narratives to understand how it persists in the present.

“I learned something new on every page of this totally essential book. And for such a serious topic, I was surprised to be greatly entertained too. Angela is the best possible guide.”Sathnam Sanghera, author of Empireland

This livestream event is presented in partnership with Fane Productions.
