Alex O’Brien joins us to show how the skills that lead her to victory at the poker table can help us to thrive in a complex world – from reading body language to calculating risk.

We live in an era beset by misinformation and uncertainty. It’s never been harder to separate fact from fiction and to make smart and informed decisions in life and in work.

Luckily for us, there is a game that directly addresses the challenges of our age; a multi-dimensional, highly strategic game all about problem-solving and calculated decision-making when faced with the unknown: poker.

Now science journalist and competitive poker player Alex O’Brien joins How To Academy to show us how the skill-set of a poker champion apply to real life.

Offering insights from the poker table and from neuroscientists, economists, game theorists and more, this livestream event will teach you the skills you’ll need to cut through the noise and thrive in our complex, post-truth world. With strategies for analysing the information that surrounds us in our day to day, becoming confident in the face of uncertainty and resilient in the face of defeat, this is an unmissable livestream event.

This online event is free for members of How To Plus.

How To + Subscribers receive discounts to our live, on-stage events and free access to our livestreams and video library of 600+ videos. The first month is £9.99 + VAT, thereafter £17.50 + VAT a month.
