One thing has become clear this year – we need nature more than ever. Conservationist Isabella Tree joins us to tell us her story of rewilding and share how you can help to protect and restore our wonderful world.
After years of running a farm in West Sussex, Isabella Tree and her husband Charlie decided to hand back control to nature. Slowly but surely, plants shot up, creatures crept in, and the landscape began to heal.
The area now hums with life and is home to some of the rarest species in Britain, such as peregrine falcons and purple emperor butterflies. Free from human intervention, the farm has become a safe haven for nature.
Isabella documented the project in her bestselling book, Wilding, which was chosen by the Smithsonian as one of their top ten science books for 2018.
Her new book, When We Went Wild, informs young readers about rewilding, and what they can also do to embrace and reconnect with nature in their homes, gardens or windowboxes. Inspired by Isabella’s life, it tells the tale of two farmers to life and features luminous illustrations by Allira Tee.
This sustainably printed picture book is perfect for children aged 4-7, but this talk is open to anyone curious about rewilding.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from a conservation pioneer and find out how you too can become a champion of the wilderness.
