How To Change – The Science of Getting From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be

Angela Duckworth Meets Katy Milkman

Award-winning Wharton professor Katy Milkman joins us with a proven toolkit that will help you make lasting change no matter your goal.

Set audacious goals. Foster good habits. Create social support. You’ve surely heard this advice before. If you’ve ever tried to change yourself or tried to encourage change in others, then you know that there are thousands of apps, books, and YouTube videos promising to help and offering sound guidance. And yet, you’re still not where you want to be.

Behavioural scientist Katy Milkman is here to explain why. In a career devoted to uncovering what helps people change, Milkman has discovered a crucial thing that many of us get wrong: our strategy.

Drawing on Milkman’s original research and the work of her dozens of world-renowned scientific collaborators, this livestream event will break down the problems that hinder us from achieving our goals – the getting started problem, the impulsivity problem, the forgetting problem, the confidence problem, and many others – and presents innovative approaches for conquering what holds us back.

Whether you’re struggling to kick-start change in yourself or are a manager, coach, or teacher aiming to help others change for the better, this talk will offer an invaluable, science-based blueprint for achieving your goals, once and for all.
