At Home With Henry “Blowers” Blofeld

In conversation with Matthew Stadlen

He may share his name with James Bond’s nemesis, but Henry Blofeld is a bona fide legend of the cricketing world and laugh-a-minute storyteller who could not be less like Ian Fleming’s infamous creation.

A bon viveur whose wit and warmth are synonymous with the BBC’s Test Match Special, the journalist and broadcaster Henry Blofeld has travelled the world in pursuit of the game and lived to tell the tale.

With his unfailing enthusiasm, deep knowledge and irresistible charm, his commentaries have made generations of cricket-fans feel like they were really there. In this free, livestreamed conversation with LBC presenter Matthew Stadlen, he will share stories of the cricketing world and beyond – from the trials and tribulations of Eton to being expelled from Cambridge. You’ll meet Ian Fleming and Noel Coward, Clive Dunn and Graeme Swann, and other cricket-loving celebrities and legendary sportsmen whom Blowers encountered in a life truly lived to the full.

This talk takes place at 6:30pm British Summer Time.
