How Women Can Prevent Dementia

Dr Lisa Mosconi In Conversation with Hannah MacInnes

It is never to late to take care of yourself. In this free livestreamed talk, Dr Lisa Mosconi presents ground-breaking science revealing how to protect the female brain from dementia.

Women’s brains age distinctly from men’s, due mostly the decline of a key brain-protective hormone: estrogen. Of the 1 million Brits projected to suffer from dementia by 2025, two-thirds will be women – but until now the majority of research to date has focused instead on the male brain.

Dr Lisa Mosconi is here to change that. A leading expert on the prevention of Alzheimer’s and the director of the Women’s Brain Initiative at Wells Cornell Medical College, she joins us to share the latest scientific insights into how, through lifestyle changes and preventative medicine, women can reduce the risk of developing dementia.

Taking on all aspects of women’s health, including brain fog, memory lapses, depression, stress, insomnia, hormonal imbalances and the increased risk of dementia, Dr Mosconi will introduce cutting-edge, evidence-based methods for protecting the female brain, encompassing diet, stress reduction and sleep. She will also examine the effectiveness of hormonal replacement therapy, addresses the perils of environmental toxins and explore the role of our microbiome.

This talk takes place at 6:30pm British Summer Time.
