Caroline Darian, Daughter of Gisèle Pelicot

Live In Conversation in London

Gisèle Pelicot’s daughter Caroline Darian joins us with a rallying cry for change, urging us to confront the hidden violence that too many endure in silence.

The Pelicot mass rape trial was unprecedented in scope and nature, captivating France and the world and turning Gisèle Pelicot into an international feminist icon. Now Gisèle’s daughter, Caroline Darian, joins us live in conversation to testify to her family’s strength and resilience in the face of Dominique’s horrific crimes and turn the tables on the abusers, placing the blame squarely at their feet and shining a spotlight on chemical submission.

She will tell the complex story of her father Dominique’s ‘Machiavellian’ nature, the childhood memories that hint at a darker truth, and the most devastating day of her life; while calling for urgent attention to the overlooked crisis of chemical submission.

Caroline, like her mother, could have chosen silence, letting the public trial speak for her. Instead, she will step forward, sharing her own story as an everyday working woman and mother, confronting unfathomable abuse at the hands of her father.

Every ticket to this event includes a donation to charities working to support victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

Caroline Darian

Daughter of Gisèle Pelicot and Dominique Pelicot

Caroline Darian is the pen name for Caroline Peyronnet –a contraction of the first names of her two beloved brothers David and Florian. Caroline is a senior communications manager in a large company in France. She is the daughter of Gisèle Pelicot and Dominique Pelicot, whose trial in Avignon for the chemical submission, rape and trafficking of his wife has made headlines around the world. Caroline’s response to the devastation her family experienced was to help others by raising awareness of this frequently undetected public health issue: domestic chemical submission. She founded the charity #MendorsPas (Don’t Put Me Under) to campaign for better overall support for victims and systematic training for all professionals concerned.
