A multi-platinum record producer who worked with Prince and many more superstars, Susan Rogers is now a neuroscientist revealing the science of music, emotion, and the brain.

Susan Rogers is a musical trailblazer. Beginning her career in LA as a humble audio tech, she went on to create No 1 hits as one of the most successful female record producers of all time.

Now an award-winning professor of cognitive neuroscience, she joins us for a journey into the science and soul of music that will reveal the secrets of why your favourite songs move you.

In conversation with Daniel Levitin, the bestselling author of This is Your Brain on Music, she will explore the brain’s natural response to seven key dimensions of any song and investigate the relationship between the music we love and our identities.

She will also take us behind the scenes of record-making, using her insider’s ear to illuminate the music of Prince, Frank Sinatra, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, and many others. She will share records that changed her life and encourage you to think about the records that define your sense of self.

Lively, inclusive and revelatory, this livestream event will refresh your playlists, deepen your connection to your favourite artists, and change the way you listen to music.
