Based in Berlin’s Max Planck Society, Germany’s most successful scientific research institute, Dr Tania Singer is a pioneering psychologist and neuroscientist whose research focuses on social emotions like empathy and compassion. Her ground-breaking study on the effects on meditation on brain, behaviour, and mental health bridges the worlds of neuroscience and wellbeing, demonstrating a scientific basis for deep inner change.

In this livestream talk, she’ll share accessible, evidence-based tools to reduce stress and improve your mental health. You’ll learn how to be more present, stabilising your mind to increase our attention and awareness; you discover how to cultivate compassion and gratitude, and become more accepting of difficult emotions; and you’ll learn to develop metacognitive awareness of thoughts and perspective taking.

It’s an unmissable opportunity to explore the new science of wellbeing from a world-leading researcher.

Tania Singer

Psychologist and Neuroscientist, Max Planck Society

Dr. Tania Singer is a psychology and neuroscience professor leading the Social Neuroscience Lab of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, where she investigates human sociality and social emotions. At the moment, Dr. Tania Singer runs a huge Covid-related study on mental health and social cohesion in the Berlin population in which she and her team test an app-based online mental training program based on so-called contemplative Dyads – partner-based intersubjective mindfulness meditation- to help people out of loneliness and reconnect them with themselves and society at large.
