Isabella Tree tells the story of a daring wildlife experiment: the rewilding of Knepp, a 3,500 acre estate in West Sussex. When forced to accept that intensive farming on the heavy clay of their land was economically unsustainable, Isabella and her husband made a spectacular leap of faith: they decided to step back and let nature take over. In little over a decade the results are breath taking and the land has become a functioning ecosystem again, heaving with life – all by itself.
