Tuesday 4th October – Session 1: Principles of Memory: in the first session we will explore how memory works, including the differences between semantic and episodic memory, and the nature of absent mindedness. We will study and practice a range of classical techniques for quick and effective memorisation.
Tuesday 11th October – Session 2: Advanced Techniques: In the second session we will study modern techniques for practical challenges we all face – from how to remember dates and foreign vocabulary to how to memorise PIN codes and faces. We will review how to transfer memories from short-term to long-term for lasting recall.
